Kent Police complaint figures revealed

KENT NEWS: More than 100 police officers at the Kent force have had three or more complaints made against them by members of the public, according to new figures.

Statistics were revealed following a Freedom of Information request by the BBC which showed 130 officers were subject to multiple complaints in 2009-10.

Kent Police were listed as fourth in the country in relation to the number of officers receiving complaints.

Most involved rudeness, assault or failure of duty.

The Police Federation, which represents 14,000 police officers in England and Wales, said most were unsubstantiated and that officers did a difficult job in difficult circumstances.
